At a fundamental level, you’ll need to choose the number of points you want your star design to have---particularly if the design only includes one, single star. Consider that there are implied meanings associated with the number of points on star design tattoos. Take the pentacle for example: it has five points and symbolizes the secret of life and spirituality in paganism. It can also represent the four elements and the spirit.
