Flower Tattoo Designs: How to Make a
Unique Rose Tattoo
Flower tattoo designs are a common choice
among female tattoo wearers. There are so many flowers to
choose from, and many represent delicate, feminine beauty.
Even if you have never been called ‘delicate’ or
‘feminine’ before you can feel a little prettier with a
brilliant flower on your body. This has also lead to the
overuse of some types of flower tattoo designs. I am
primarily referring to the rose.
A Rose of a Different Color
One way to come up with flower
tattoo designs that use the rose but still stand out as
unique is to get creative with petal colors. Red is the most
common hue for rose tattoos. A red rose is known to represent
love, and to some people, it is viewed as sexy. However, you
can get a similar effect using other colors. A darker
personality might go with a black rose. You can also use your
favorite colors to make it more personal, even if you do not
find that same color occurring naturally in
nature.
The stem or vines are often green; however you can change the
color if you like. A black rose could have a gray stem or
feature a stylized drawn look. If you want to do a red rose,
but add a little hardcore edge to it, consider an entirely red
shape. The stem and thorns could be drawn in red to appear
etched in the skin, outlined in blood!
How to get the Most out of Rose Vines
Position is also important when choosing
flower tattoo designs. This can also add a hint of unique
style to your typical rose look. Instead of a thorny stem, use
vines to dance and wind along your body’s natural shape. Your
rose tattoo could twist in a loop around your belly button, or
spiral up your arm or over your ankle.
Rose vines could also be used to fill out flower tattoo
designs. Lush, curled branches and lengths could extend to
either side, curling in symmetrical shapes. If you prefer lower
back tattoos, the rose vines could be used to create a narrow
triangle shape that will better suit your
body.
Other Elements for a Unique Rose
You can always add other objects, figures or symbols to flower
tattoo designs to make them more unique. A rose vine could curl
around a heart or star shape. Perhaps you want to work in other
types of flowers, or a cross to symbolize your devotion to your
religion. Some people prefer rose adorned swords and daggers to
represent a number of things. It could be a painful lost love,
or affection for fantasy. Either way, finished flower tattoo
designs should say something about you.
You can still use a rose in your body art and be original. Be
creative and come up with new ways to revisit this old
favorite. Whether there is meaning behind your flower tattoo
designs, or if it is purely about appearance does not matter.
It is all up to you and what you want displayed on your
body.
